WHY THIS SUBJECT? 2020 has led to so many challenges and difficulties and even with a simple task such as voting that is so familiar, I wanted to showcase the achievements that have been made in the past and yet show how they are all leading for even greater changes in the future.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? All voices matter and have a right to be heard to continue working towards a fair and equal future. Everyone deserves that chance to be heard. Those who have come before us have been dedicated to making their voices heard for what they believe in and it is our right to be able to continue advancing these notions and to be able to advocate for ourselves and what we believe in.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? I wanted to initially go from a black and white image demonstrating the past to color of the present, but continued with the black and white to show how someday this will all be one giant piece that blends into a large movement for many generations down the road.
