WHY THIS SUBJECT? Black women have to endure so many hardships just for being black and a women. Seeing Black women get ahead and receive recognition in an industry that means so much in terms of how we perceive certain narratives in society is so important.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? This work brings to light various Black female artists along with the work that they have done. The time frame ranges from around 1920-today.
