WHY THIS SUBJECT? I chose this subject because I noticed how many Latina girls around me would not continue their studies simply because their parents (usually it was more the father) wanted them to just work or help around the house by cleaning and cooking, when they wanted to continue studying for the career of their dreams.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? It is a simple graduate inside of a card from a card game myself and many other Latina girls played growing up. I thought it was a good way to showcase the message I was trying to put out.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? Not much technique, but the process took a while. I found myself sketching the design many times because I had different ideas and it was hard to settle on just one. I had originally started with a different topic as well.
