Description
WHY THIS SUBJECT? I wanted to do this subject because it is something that I noticed exists a lot during elementary school. The term “like a girl” has been used aa a condescending term at a very young age. I wanted to show how a girls power isn’t demeaning, but rather powerful.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? I wanted to create a “sponsored” work for one of the women equality organizations that I know of, which is AWID, Association for Women’s Rights In Development. This would be something that I think would look great as a sticker or pin and I would want to advocate it not only as a poster, but as other mediums as well.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? I first started out by creating a Pinterest board of the styles and colors that I wanted to use in my poster. I wanted to do something that looked very comic and flat. I did all my my sketching and drawing on Procreate.
