Description
WHY THIS SUBJECT? I was inspired by my Environmental Science course to create a poster about environmentalism. Intersectionality discussions in this Art, Design and Change course inspired me to incorporate both environmentalism and capitalism. Many people in today’s society have lost touch with the natural world and only see its value in terms of how they can capitalize on the earth’s resources to make more money. Very little thought is given to how that will affect the future of the planet, human lives, and ironically the future economy. The goal of these posters is to change people’s minds about what holds the most value.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? This is a series of three posters.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? I created the base poster by first sketching an outline, then used colored pencils and markers to finish it. Cutouts of a dollar sign and a "Going out of Business" sign were placed on top of the base poster to make a series.
