Conceived during the spring 2020 pandemic by Columbia College Chicago Photography faculty member, Margaret Denny, the Stuck Indoors photography project showcases work from students in her Photography History 1 class. The Photography department also invited students to participate, so some submissions here are from students in the department.
Instructions were simple. "Think broadly. Maybe you are not stuck indoors entirely, then you can photograph what you see outdoors. If you are sheltering at home, what subjects might you photograph? Portraits? Self-portraits? Quarantine still life? Views from the window?"
All submitted work was received in the College Archives and retained as a permanent collection as part of its student response during the year 2020 and documenting student life and student perspective during this time.
