CC Writer was the first student newspaper at Columbia College Chicago, published in November 1973. The first issue of The Columbia Chronicle, which replaced CC Writer, was published on October 31, 1978 and has since delivered campus, local, national, and international news to the Columbia community during the academic year (September through May). Published weekly, the Chronicle is entirely written, photographed, and edited by current students of the College. Since 1995, the Chronicle has received many prestigious awards, accolades, and honorary mentions from various associations and competitions.
